Bulk Password Generator
Make passwords for a whole team, company, or class in one go, up to 1,000 at once, free and with no sign-up. (For a single password, use the password generator.) Paste a list of names or email addresses, or just choose how many, and every person gets a username and a password. Download a CSV ready to import into Microsoft Entra (Microsoft 365), Google Workspace, or Active Directory, or print one slip per person to hand out.

| Ada Lovelace | ada.lovelace | Kq7#vHt9!mR4xb |
| Alan Turing | [email protected] | Wd3$pZ8&nYs6Ek |
| Grace Hopper | grace.hopper | Tz9!bM4^hFr7qC |
The passwords are made in your browser, and nothing you paste is sent anywhere. Edit the list and only the lines you change get new passwords; the circular arrow beside Copy all makes a fresh set.

Five Styles to Choose From
Pick the style that suits who will type it. Look-alikes such as 0 and O or 1 and l are left out of every style, so a password can be read off a printed slip without guessing.
Kq7#vHt9!mR4xbPassword14 characters (8 to 64) with all four kinds of character. The symbols are ones Microsoft, Google, and Active Directory all accept, and it passes the default rules of all three.lake-orbit-tidy-plum4Passphrase4 random words (3 to 8) and a digit from 2 to 9. Easy to read out and type, for staff on shared or unfamiliar devices. For just one, use the passphrase generator.Hq7mTa3kWzEasy to read10 letters and numbers (8 to 32), no symbols. Quicker to type on a tablet or phone.Tiger-Lamp-42Young childrenTwo or three short, everyday words and two digits that a six-year-old can read and type. Weaker by design, about 27 bits: only where a few wrong guesses lock the account, never for staff.482913PIN6 digits (4 to 12) for door codes, lockers, or check-in. All different, and never an easy one such as 1234, 0000, or a year, the same rules as the PIN generator.
Importing the File
The download button starts as CSV; the small arrow beside it chooses another format. Each follows the upload template of its system:
- Microsoft Entra: in the Microsoft Entra admin center, go to Users, then Bulk operations, then Bulk create, and upload the file. Every username must be an email address on a domain your organization has added to Microsoft Entra. Microsoft’s template has no column for changing the password at next sign-in.
- Google Workspace: in the Google Admin console, go to Directory, then Users, then Bulk update users, and upload the file. Everyone goes into your top-level organizational unit, shown as
/in the Org Unit Path column. Change that column to place people elsewhere, such as/Sales. - Active Directory: the file has the columns that PowerShell’s
New-ADUserneeds. For example:Import-Csv passwords-ad.csv | ForEach-Object { New-ADUser -Name $_.Name ` -GivenName $_.GivenName -Surname $_.Surname -DisplayName $_.DisplayName ` -SamAccountName $_.SamAccountName ` -UserPrincipalName $_.UserPrincipalName ` -AccountPassword (ConvertTo-SecureString $_.AccountPassword -AsPlainText -Force) ` -ChangePasswordAtLogon ($_.ChangePasswordAtLogon -eq '$true') ` -Enabled $true } - CSV: name, username, password, and whether to change it at next sign-in, for any other system or a spreadsheet.
Paste straight from a spreadsheet. A first row of column names, such as Name and Email, is skipped, and so are extra columns such as a job title, bullets, and numbering. A line that would fail the import, such as a duplicate username or a mistyped email address, is marked, and the Microsoft Entra, Google Workspace, and Active Directory files wait until it is fixed. Two people with the same name are fine: the second gets a numbered username, such as sean.murphy2.
Usernames. Names without an email address get one made from the name, such as grace.hopper, and “Just a number” makes user01, user02, and so on. Microsoft Entra and Google Workspace need a full email address, so type your email domain in the box that appears and grace.hopper becomes [email protected].
Safe in a spreadsheet. No password starts with =, +, -, or @, and names lose any of those at the start, so a spreadsheet can never run a cell as a formula.
Handing Out Passwords Safely
- Print slips instead of sharing a list. Each slip has one person’s name, username, and password, with an optional title and where to sign in. Cut them apart and hand them out, so nobody reads a password off a screen or a board.
- Leave “Change at next sign-in” on. You have seen every password, so each person should replace theirs the first time they sign in. It goes into the Google Workspace, Active Directory, and CSV files and onto the slips.
- Don’t email the list. Email is stored in many places for a long time.
- Delete the file after the import, and empty the trash. Once everyone has signed in, nobody needs the starting passwords again.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I generate passwords in bulk?
Paste your list of names or email addresses into the box, one person per line, or choose “Just a number.” A password appears beside each person straight away. Then download the file for your system, press Copy all, or print one slip per person.
How many passwords can I make at once?
With “Just a number”, type any number from 1 to 1,000, or pick one of the common sizes. With a pasted list, you get one for each line. A thousand takes about a second.
Can I make usernames and passwords together?
Yes. Paste names and each person gets a username made from their name, such as grace.hopper, completed with your email domain if you type one. Paste email addresses, or your own usernames, and those are used as they are. For gamertags and social handles, try the username generator.
Can I make a password list in Excel?
Yes. Download the CSV and open it in Excel, or press Copy all and paste into a sheet: names, usernames, and passwords land in their own columns.
Does Excel have a password generator?
No. Recipes built from RAND or RANDBETWEEN work, but they recalculate every time the sheet changes, so the passwords change under you, and Excel’s random numbers are not made for security. Make the list here instead and press Copy all: names, usernames, and passwords paste into their own columns.
How do I generate random passwords in PowerShell?
The old shortcut, Membership.GeneratePassword(), only exists in Windows PowerShell 5.1 and is gone from PowerShell 7. The simpler route is to make the list here, download the Active Directory file, and import it with the New-ADUser script shown above.
Are the passwords unique?
Yes. Every password in a batch is different: if a new one ever matched another in the list, it would be drawn again. The same goes for PINs.
What is a good temporary password?
One made at random for one person, used once, and replaced the first time they sign in. Hand it over on a printed slip or in person rather than by email, and leave “Change at next sign-in” on. That is what this page is for: new starters, a reset for a whole team, or a new class.
Does it send my list of names anywhere?
No. The list is read and the passwords are made in your browser, and the files are created on your device when you download them.
